Good to see you caught this, I was wondering where you went for a few days there man. Also funny, go read the Pain Blog, Travis Williams is one straight forward ass mother fucker. He calls out a bunch of fanboi fodder, and responds rationally, with little restraint. I think it's freakin' awesome. We need more 'David Jaffe's' in this day in age.

Yeah,I really like Travis. He comes across in a real way without the corporate BS that you usually see in most posts by developers. I'm going to read back through it.Were you able to get 2.40?

Ahhh, makes sense, I hope you enjoyed your vacay, I'm going out on the 22nd for mine. I was able to get 2.4, and so far, I have not had a single problem with it. I read on a few NeoGAF forums that Sony had internal server failures, and as a result a few hundred people downloaded incomplete firmware updates, and when the PS3 tried to install it, it inevitably failed and could not revert back to it's previous firmware, forcing the system to brick itself out of confusion. This would probably be why it's taking Sony so long to put the FW back up. Shit happen IMHO. I got a bit heated against a couple of kids on the PSblog over it, because they were arguing the straw man argument, and claimed Sony was leaving them in the dark. I call bullshit, PR reps aren't gonna respond to this, they need to do clean up first and foremost. I'm sure the FW should be back up by the end of the week.
